During a trip from the United Kingdom, a group of NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) took part in tree-planting ceremonies and other activities in the presence of HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji that added a significant dose of tradition, heritage and culture to their journey. “The role of overseas Indians is important in India’s innovation and progressive nation building,” Pujya Swamiji shared during the visit. “They offer an important contribution in strengthening the foundation stone of India.”
“By motivating overseas Indians to connect with their roots and values, the Government of India’s flagship programs like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ will get a boost, and a vision for the future can be established. In this way, the roadmap for the coming years can be prepared to contribute to the development of the country.
“Culture is the soul of any country. It is from our shared culture that all the rituals of the country are understood, and this is the basis of which its ideals, life values, etc. are determined. Indian culture is one of the oldest cultures in the world. At the same time, it is also very sublime, coordinated, prosperous and vibrant, in which there is a wonderful coordination of scientificity and spirituality. In helping to keep this divine culture alive and awake along with the country’s resident Indians, overseas Indians can also make an important contribution.
“No matter where you are living, keep your children emotionally attached to India’s civilization, culture, glorious history, heritage, art, spiritual and social traditions. The divine values of non-violence, compassion and morality lie at the core of India, and with these values the younger generation can be nurtured to build a future of compassion and tolerance.

परमार्थ निकेतन में यूनाइटेड किंगडम से प्रवासी भारतीयों का एक दल पधारा। उन्होंने स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी से भेंट कर गंगा आरती और विभिन्न आध्यात्मिक गतिविधियों में सहभाग किया।
स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी ने कहा कि भारत ने अपनी स्वतंत्रता के 75वें वर्ष का उत्सव ‘आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव’ के रूप में मनाया। स्वतंत्रता के बाद 75 वर्षों की अवधि के दौरान देश ने अनेक उपलब्धियाँ हासिल की। ये 75 वर्ष हमारे लिये ‘गौरवशाली वर्ष रहे’। भारत के नवनिर्माण और प्रगतिशील राष्ट्र निर्माण में प्रवासी भारतीयों की भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण है। भारत की आधारशिला को मजबूत करने में उनका महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है।
स्वामी जी ने कहा कि प्रवासी भारतीयों को अपने मूल और मूल्यों से जोड़ने हेतु प्रेरित कर भारत सरकार के ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ और ‘आत्मानिर्भर भारत’ जैसे प्रमुख कार्यक्रमों को बढ़ावा मिलेगा, साथ ही भविष्य के लिए एक दृष्टिकोण भी तैयार किया जा सकता है। इस तरह से देश के विकास के लिये आने वाले वर्षों का रोडमैप तैयार हो सकता है।
स्वामी जी ने कहा कि संस्कृति किसी भी देश की आत्मा होती है। संस्कृति से ही देश के समस्त संस्कारों का बोध होता है जिनके आधार पर अपने आदर्शों, जीवन मूल्यों, आदि का निर्धारण होता है। भारतीय संस्कृति विश्व की प्राचीनतम संस्कृतियों में से एक है। साथ ही यह अत्यंत उदात्त, समन्वयवादी, समृद्ध एवं जीवंत भी हैं, जिसमें वैज्ञानिकता और आध्यात्मिकता का अद्भुत समन्वय है। इस दिव्य संस्कृति को जीवंत और जागृत बनाये रखनें में भारतीयों के साथ प्रवासी भारतीय भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दे सकते हैं।
स्वामी जी ने प्रवासी भारतीयों के दल से चर्चा के दौरान वर्तमान पीढ़ियों को हिन्दी से जोड़ने का संदेश देते हुये कहा कि ’किसी भी राष्ट्र की अपनी एक विशिष्ट भाषा होती है, जो वहां की संस्कृति का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा भी होती है। हिन्दी ने वैश्विक स्तर पर भारत को एक विशिष्ट पहचान प्रदान की है और यही भारतीयों के मध्य जुड़ाव का सबसे बेहतर माध्यम भी है। भाषा ही वह माध्यम है जो किसी राष्ट्र को एकता के सूत्र में बाँधती है और उसके द्वारा ही राष्ट्रीयता की भावना जाग्रत होती है। हिन्दी ने हमारे राष्ट्र की एकता को सुदृढ़ बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।
स्वामी जी ने प्रवासी भारतीयों का आह्वान करते हुये कहा कि आप चाहे जहां पर भी निवास कर रहें हो परन्तु अपने बच्चों को भारत की सभ्यता, संस्कृति, गौरवशाली इतिहास, विरासत, कला, आध्यात्मिक और सामाजिक परम्पराओं तथा भारतीय मूल से भावनात्मक रूप से जोड़े रखना। भारत के मूल मंे अहिंसा, करूणा और नैतिकता के दिव्य सूत्र समाहित हैं, इन सूत्रों के साथ युवा पीढ़ी को पोषित करना होगा ताकि करूणा और सहिष्णुता से युक्त भविष्य का निर्माण हो सके।
