6 Day: Urban Develpmnt Minister Declares Clean & Green Rishikesh

During the sixth day of the Shri Ram Katha, Hon’ble Urban Development Minister, Shri Madan Kaushik, Haridwar Bhagwat Dham Ashram’s Mahamandaleshwar Pujya Swami Vivekanandaji, Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Mr. Ram Niwas Goel​ as well as devotees from across the world joined hands and pledged to work for a cleaner and greener world.

On the occasion Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji​ shared briefly about the plans underway for a clean and green Rishikesh, as a model for Uttarakhand the rest of the nation. This model would include tapping all pollution going into the River Ganga as well as ensure proper care and shelter for stray animals roaming the streets of the town.

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati​ji shared her story about being touched and transformed by Maa Ganga, “I came to the banks of Gangaji twenty two years ago, I met Mother Ganga and was blessed. I can say today that this is the grace of the Mother Ganga that neither my worship, neither text nor virtue, but if anything has changed in my life, it has been changed only by the grace of the Mother Ganga and by the grace of Pujya Swamiji. I feel that both my soul and body have become Indian; My culture have also become Indian and I have become a member of the whole world family.

Shri Murlidhar ji said that “there is a need for better environment for the purpose of cultivation. In this Parmarth Dham, listening to the psyche of the soul can make life divine, and embody the message of cleanliness being broadcast daily.

Mr. Madan Kaushik said, “There is a need to work together for the unity, integrity and prosperity of the nation. He called for cooperation in the campaign being run by Pujya Swamiji, the change being called forth by Prime Minister Modi for environmental protection. He said that in order to save the environment, every person must take the pledge to plant at least one plant.

Pujya Swamiji and other special guests presented the Hon’ble Minister with a sacred Rudraksha plant.
