It’s World Immunization Week!!

Celebrated the last week of April every year, the observance promotes the use of vaccines to protect all people from the ravages of dangerous diseases. Historical evidence proves that, by protecting against dangerous diseases, the lives of millions of people have been spared. There were many deadly diseases that plagued the world that were finally eradicated by vaccines.

Citing the terrible toll that the Covid-19 pandemic has created in our lives, Parmarth Niketan President and Spiritual Leader HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji stated, “Corona has increased the importance of vaccines even more. The virus is a threat to all of our lives. Our economy is stalled and millions of people are dying. Additionally, many children have not been vaccinated for other diseases like measles and polio during the pandemic, putting them at serious risk for catastrophic illness. It is vital that we all get vaccinated, everyone everywhere – and, we must encourage others to do so, as well. World Immunization Week gives us a valid reason and a forum to do it.”

“We must have full trust in the efficacy of the Indian vaccine,” Pujya Swamiji continued. “Ignore all the rumours, and continue to have trust in the vaccine. We must have a vaccine of ideas so that people can stay away from negativity, remain positive and inspire others to do the same. The Government of India is making Corona vaccine available free of cost to people in the age group of 45 years and older, and it will be introduced to all people 18 and older from May 1. This is a truly commendable effort, and we all must take advantage of it.”

Pujya Swamiji concluded by saying “we must make the public aware of this vaccination program. We must not disseminate wrong information. And, we must be vaccinated to prevent Corona. These are the things we must do. And, above all else, we should – together – all express our support of the vaccination program for the public good, to build trust in the system so that everyone’s life can be protected.”
