Swami Narayan Sadhana Camp at Parmarth Niketan

A divine gathering that included HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, Pujya Shastri Madhavpriyadas Swamiji, Purani Swami Balkrishna Dasji Maharaj, Pujya Swami Ramsukhdasji, Pujya Bhaktavatsal Swamiji, Pujya Swami Dharmanandji and other revered saints came together today to inaugurate a sacred seven-day sadhana camp along the holy banks of Mother Ganga. The auspicious event, organized by the SGVP Gurukul Parivar of Ahmedabad, has attracted thousands and thousands of devotees from different countries of the world and different states of India to participate in this holy occasion.

In His opening remarks, Pujya Swamiji said that “the inner powers of the seeker can be strengthened only through spiritual practice, and through this practice man’s weaknesses can be decreased while purity, chastity, righteous behaviour and morality can be increased.

“This beautiful sadhana camp is a special occasion when we awaken our divine consciousness. And by giving that consciousness the form of resolution, we start a positive revolution because only positive thinking can create the best creation. Through spiritual practice, one can progress to old age, all the time building the self in the direction of nation building. At the same time self-building can move forward in the direction of nation building. Finding yourself through sadhana, the journey from world to Jagdish, from soul to God, can be facilitated.

“There are three stages of spiritual practice – purification of mind, purification of finances and purification of food. If the mind is pure, then both thought and behavior will be pure. If finances are pure, there will be a corruption-free society. And, if your food is pure, your mind will also be pure, because food fuels the body. This is why spiritual practice plays such an important role in our lives.”

Swami Madhavpriya Das ji added that “our life is based on three pillars of Sadhana, Service and Surrender. Life can be made better by starting the journey of life with these three pillars. Sadhana does not mean to practice rosary or mantras, but to cultivate oneself. Every year thousands of devotees come to Parmarth Niketan in the presence of Swami Narayan Gurukul so that they can identify themselves by living in this holy environment.”

The Swami Narayan Sadhana Camp continues through 5 November
