International and Green Holi at Parmarth Niketan

People from all over India and all over the world joined together on the banks of Mother Ganga, in the lap of the Himalayas, at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) to celebrate an International and Green Holi! As divine music and chanting filled the air, people danced and coloured each other in eco-friendly, organic and natural colours of turmeric and sandalwood as well as showered flower petals in honour of the festival of colours.

They were touched by Pujya Swamiji and Sadhvi Bhagawatiji’s inspiring words on the deeper meaning of Holi and the message one gains from the story of evil Holika and divine Prahlaad during a special evening campfire.

Kia Miller and Tommy Rosen brought their group of forty students to the celebrations and were filled with love, peace and joy by their special Holi visit. They joined Pujya Swamiji in a special water blessing ceremony, where they applied natural colour to the globe, and offered holy waters of the River Ganga on top of the world as a pledge and a prayer for people from every part of the world to save water and protect our environment.
