Interfaith Leaders Training Completion

A two day Inter-religious Summit dedicated to the theme of “Fostering Peaceful & Diverse Societies” concluded at Parmarth Niketan, jointly organised by the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance and KAICIID, giving way to a special two-day Youth Leader Workshop and Training at Parmarth Niketan from 9-10th December, during which young faith leaders and youth from faith-based organisations and intergovernmental organisations were trained to be champions of peaceful and inclusive societies.

Youth leaders from more than 12 countries, belonging to diverse faith traditions and organisations were trained with interactive, engaging and fun activities to understand the art and the skills of interfaith dialogue. The training was led with great commitment and compassion by Mohamed Safiullah Munsoor, KAICIID Programme’s Director, Anders Frantzen, Senior Programme Manager and Renáta Nelson , KAICIID Coordination Officer. It included representatives from organisations such as United Religions Initiative Asia, Art of Living, India Mauritius Foundation, University of Dhaka, Interfaith Colombo, Religious Freedom Initiative, Our Volx, Steps Organisation, Purwaramaya Battarmulla, Euphrates Institute, Save and Serve Foundation, Shia Degree College, Jamiatul Islamia Banat, Madrassa, Mangaldai, Darrang, Assam, Parmarth Niketan and others took part.

Those in the training also enjoyed special interactions with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji & Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and a unique opportunity to share their experiences and learnings as well as reaffirm their commitment to be Ambassadors of Peace. They joined Pujya Swamiji, Sadhvi Bhagawatiji, Mohamed Safiullah Munsoor, Anders and Renata in a special water blessing ceremony, as they learned about how much of the work that Global Interfaith WASH Alliance is committed to is for the conservation of water, improvement of sanitation and hygiene, especially how improved WASH is core and essential to building peaceful and diverse societies.
