Intensive Yoga Course: Discover Yoga as a lifestyle beyond the mat

Students from Brazil, New Zealand, India, England and the USA embarked on a two week Intensive Yoga Course at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram. The course offers a full and generous serving of traditional Hatha Yoga including Asana, Pranayama, Vedic chanting, Yoga Nidra and Meditation.

Asana practice at Intensive Yoga Course

The absorbing practice of Yoga Nidra and Meditation allows the individual to sift through the layers of consciousness. The undulating and vibrational rhythms of Vedic chanting creates space to connect with self in a loving way. Pranayama energizes the subtle and physical body, awakens the senses and calms the mind. Physical asana practice encourages the individual to foster an equanimous state both on and off the mat.

Special Havan (fire ceremony) for Yoga students

The development of the course flows beautifully from day-to-day, weaving disciplined practice with teachings from the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The contained and safe nature of each class provides students the opportunity to experience the subtle yet profound affects Hatha Yoga can have on the body and mind.

Grace & Sadhvi Abha Saraswati (Mataji)

“I arrived in India feeling fairly fragmented due to a busy life in London and it’s high demands. The course offered a rare and unique moment to assimilate and pull together a more integrated sense of self. I felt supported and nourished throughout the course, particularly during the physical asana practice during which I was given the confidence and space to go deeper. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to explore Hatha Yoga. Life at Parmarth Niketan is even more reason to engage with this program. It’s loving vibrancy and energetic quality is infectious and hard to leave.” Grace from London.
