Inaugural Sangam Samvad Conclave at Kumbh Mela

Inaugural Sangam Samvad Conclave brings together spiritual leaders, academicians, scholars, policy experts, and Think Tank researchers at Parmarth Niketan’s Kumbh Mela Camp

The grand inauguration of a series of Sangam Samvad dialogues took place today at the Parmarth Niketan Camp, Sector 18, Kumbh Mela, organised by the Kumbh India Think Council, in association with the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance brought spiritual leaders, academicians, scholars, policy experts, and Think Tank researchers, together to discuss India culture, economics, public policy and governance. It began with a traditional lamp lighting and concluded with a pledge and a vote of thanks. The theme for the samvad (dialogue), set on the sacred banks of the Sangam of the Yamuna, Ganga, and Saraswati, Hindu dharma or Sanatana dharma. The Chief Guest for the conference was Sh. K. Rajasekharan, Hon. Governor ( Mizoram), Chair of the Sangam Samvad Inaugural.

An esteemed group of leaders spearheaded the event, including Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, President, Parmarth Niketan; Hon’ble Minister Shri Nand Kumar Gupta (Nandi Ji), Minister-Stamp and Court Fee, Registration and Civil Aviation, Govt. of UP; Pujya Swami Parmatmanandji, Arshya Vidya Mandir, Rajkot; Pujya Acharya Krishnamani, Krishan Pranami Sampradaya; Pujya Acharya MM Balkanandji Maharaj, Dr Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Secretary General, Global Interfaith WASH Alliance; Shri Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor – Manipur University; Shri Sunil Gupta, Director-Allahabad Museum, Shri Ashok Mehta, Sr. Lawyer and Faculty ITC; Shri Yogesh Shukla, Faculty ITC; Shri Ashish Gautam, Divya Prem Seva Mission-Hardwar;.

Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji said: “What should be the nectar that comes from this Kumbh. This is what this Sangam Samvad – our dialogue and discourse is about. Today we have everything set- TV set, sofa set, diamond set but we are still upset. Here at the Kumbh Mela we have nothing set but still millions of people are joyful and peaceful. This is what we need today. We need a revolution in our way of thinking and our way of being which is more in line with our planet and with humanity. This is way of life; this divine inspiration is the nectar that emerges from the Kumbh.”

Sh. K. Rajasekharan said: “There is life in Triveni. There is rejuvenation in Triveni. There is hope in Triveni. If there is one place on earth where dreams have found a home, it is India. India has many things to teach; the world has many things to learn. The message of Kumbh Mela is rejuvenate, rekindle, reform, and resubmit. The message of Sanatana Dharma is transforming the world into a better place. This Kumbh Samvad carves out a niche which bridges the ancient and the modern, the best which has been known and thought in the world.”

Sadhvi Bhagawatiji said: “Kumbh Darshan is Bharat Darshan. What draws 150 million people here from all over the world is faith, spirituality and culture. That is truly the greatness of India. India is truly the Vishwaguru, the one bringing the true light to the world.”

There will be more conclaves in the series throughout the Kumbh Mela.
