Honouring the Practice of Ahimsa on World Earth Day

In a special interfaith event in Delhi organised by Vishwa Ahimsa Sangh, on the occasion of World #EarthDay, in honour and memory of divine and respected Jain Saint HH Acharya Sushil Kumar Muniji Maharaj, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji spoke on the beautiful message and meaning of the teachings of the Jain tradition and the great example that Sushil Muniji Maharajji embodied.

She said, “Mahavir Bhagawan and Pujya Acharya Sushul Muniji Maharaj embodied and shared by their divine example how to live the core tenets of Jain tradition which are actually applicable not only to Jains but to people of every tradition and every walk of life. These core tenets include: non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, non-hoarding and integrity. If we tried to apply even just the practice of non-violence or ahimsa then simply with the first core tenet we could significantly do our part in protecting, preserving and serving our planet and all of this divine creation. Today on the occasion of Earth Day there can be no greater tribute to our revered Sushil Muniji Maharaj then to reaffirm our commitment to truly leading lives of non-violence for our selves and for our future generations.” Watch her speech on Mahavir Jayanti for more of her words on the teachings of Jainism: https://youtu.be/QRvdAO4q08A
