Ganga That Se Ganga Talao: World Hindi Conference

A very special Ganga Aarti programme was held on the banks of the Ganga Talao in Mauritius ahead of the Vishwa Hindi Sammelan (World Hindi Conference) from the 18-20th August. At the behest of the Honble Minister of External Affairs Smt Sushma Swaraj​ ji, with the blessings of HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji​, the programme was organised with a beautiful Sari Bandhan Ceremony that began the event followed by chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa, divine Ganga Aarti, pledge for environmental protection and Shanti Path/Shradhanjali offered to the Honble Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihar Vajpayeeji.

Participating in the ceremony were Honble Governor of West Bengal Shri Kesari Nath Tripathi, Honble Governor of Goa Smt Mridula Sinhaji, Honble Minister of State for External Affairs, General V.K. Singh​ ji, Honble Minister of HRD, Ganga Rejuvenation Dr. Satyapal Singh​ ji, Honble Shantaram Baba ji, Minister of Culture, Mauritius, Honble Leela Devi ji, Minister of Education, Mauritius, Dr.Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank​ ji, Member of Parliament (MP), MP and Spokesperson of JDU Shri KC Tyagiji as well as many others. At the end of the Ganga Aarti Mrs Niveditaji offered a sacred tulsi plant on behalf of Pujya Swamiji and the Parmarth Niketan family as a symbol of our commitment to work together to protect water, the environment and promote the plantation of trees on every occasion.

Performing the ceremony, representing Parmarth Niketan, were Sushri Ganga Nandini​, Shri Deepak Sharma​, Shri Dileep Chetry, Shri Punit Mishra, Shri Surya Prakash Gaur, Shri Abhay Pandey and Shri Narendra Bisht.


A sacred Shanti Path and prayer was done at the end to pay tribute to the Honble Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihar Vajpayeeji.

During, their visit the delegation from Parmarth Niketan also met with Acharya Pratistha ji, Director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture in Mauritius, invited her home to Parmarth and presented the centre with the Aarti ki Thalis, as a blessing from Pujya Swamiji and Parmarth Niketan to continue this divine ceremony. A few Thalis were also offered by Niveditaji, on behalf of Parmarth, to Shiv Sagar Mandir along with Shri Prakash Pant​ ji, his wife and Shri Mohan Singh Rawat ji.
