Free Artifical Limb & Physical Therapy Medical Camp Inaugurated at Parmarth

Vowing to create a Divyang-free Uttarakhand, HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji blessed and inaugurated a very special free medical camp today – one that will enable the State’s Divyangs – Differently-Abled – to become Able through the distribution of artificial limbs and physical therapy designed to remove the obstacles of disability and provide a mobile future for our Cerebral Palsy-challenged brothers and sisters.

Under the joint aegis of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh and Mahaveer Seva Sadan of Kolkata, artificial limbs, calipers and molded shoes are being provided to handicapped persons, and the journey to provide a dignified life to the Divyang community – and, to return their smiles! – has begun.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji said, “Disability is a serious public health problem especially in a developing nation like India, so sensitivity of all of us towards Divyang is absolutely necessary so that all the differently abled can be helped. Focusing on and affording the rights of persons with disabilities in every aspect of personal, social, economic, cultural and life must be a priority. With the blessings of Swamiji, the initiative of Divyang Mukt Uttarakhand has begun!

Param Pujya Swamiji shared that “being disabled is not a curse, so there is no need to be a victim of emotional inferiority. This feeling hinders your development, but this initiative will change that. The Divyang Mukt Uttarakhand program will play an important role in maintaining access to health, education and employment for the disabled, and for ensuring a healthy level of self-respect.
