Earth Hour Celebrated at Parmarth Niketan

Earth Hour was celebrated at Parmarth Niketan last night. Pilgrims, devotees and sevaks joined to support the call to protect and preserve our planet, taking the responsibility to be stewards of our Earth.

As Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji inspires us by sharing, “There can be a plan A and a plan B but there cannot be a planet B. We have only one planet and we must come together to protect, preserve and serve it, ensuring that it not only survives but thrives.”

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati adds, “This planet is our temple and our home. We share it with all of creation, our world family. Hence, we must take every opportunity to remember and reaffirm our commitment to preserve and conserve our sacred home. Let us pledge to make every hour an Earth hour. We may not be able to turn off all electricity all the time and live in complete darkness, but we can do our bit by turning off electricity when we are not using it and by being conscious consumers of our world’s sacred and finite resources through what we eat, what we buy and what we wear — every hour of every day.”
