Annual Free Medical Eye Camp Inaugurated at Parmarth Niketan

HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji paid a visit to the Shukdevanand Trust Charitable Hospital yesterday for an inaugural ceremony and to take stock of the facilities and arrangements organized for Parmarth Niketan’s Annual Free Medical Eye Camp – a popular and long-serving offering that had been curtailed for several years due to the far-reaching effects of the Covid pandemic. Welcoming patients from Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan, Pujya Swamiji also lauded the efforts and dedication of the team of eye specialists from the United States, Australia, Nepal and India who so lovingly committed to providing much-needed quality vision care to anyone that needs it throughout the 10-day duration of the Camp.

Pujya Swamiji shared that “the patients coming from far and wide have provided us an opportunity to serve here. Our vision remains divine through service. Our vision should be of service and of dedication. Our vision should be to serve the whole of society as our own. No one is small and no one is big. No, it is necessary to serve all of us with a pure vision. Seeing part of GOD in others, working for them, is true service to humanity. And, it is this service that also destroys the ego.”

Patients coming from other states shared that they had heard about cataract camp organized in Parmarth Niketan for years and about how the operations performed and the lenses inserted and all of the arrangements are of a high standard. On the first day, ophthalmologists performed 25 successful cataract operations, after which the patients and their associates were provided accommodation and food for the duration of their healing with the blessings of Pujya Swamiji.
