Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati graced the beautiful and unique #VaicharikMahakumbh again on the 14th May during Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s visit to the International Conference during the Simhastha Kumbha Mela.

Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, Smt Sumitra Mahajanji set the tone of the valedictory session by offering her respect to the revered spiritual leaders gathered in the conference, representing the different akharas and India’s great spiritual-cultural heritage. She said that just as the waters of the river purify our bodies and minds, the presence of our saints purify our mind and our thoughts.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhanji welcomed everyone home to the #KumbhaMela in #Ujjain, #MadhyaPradesh. He emphasized the great work that the state is committed to accomplishing in light of the 21 points that had come forth as the ‘#SimhasthDeclaration’ from the three day conference.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji concluded the conference with his moving and deeply inspiring speech. He called to all saints to hold such #VicharikKumbh and conferences once every year with their devotees, discussing socially pertinent issues and collectively acting towards the solutions. When interviewed by members of the media family about Pujya Swamiji’s blessings and thoughts on the conference, Pujya Swamiji shared he was glad to see our visionary Prime Minister and our selfless and dedicated Chief Minister of MP’s great commitment to the environment, to protecting our sacred rivers and to the welfare of all.

Members of the media also pointed out that the same ideas and same initiatives that Pujya Swamiji had been tirelessly working for through out the mela were the ones that were being discussed and noted in the 21 point declaration. They expressed their appreciation to the commitment by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, supported by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, towards mass plantation of trees along the banks of the River Kshipra during the monsoon season, also a green initiative, that Pujya Swamiji had been talking about extensively and garnering all stakeholders support on throughout the mela.

Hence, there was a great amount of enthusiasm and hope in the atmosphere from the beautiful declaration and the presence of so many revered saints and divine souls gathered together in the historic Ujjain Kumbha Mela, to revive the roots of a tradition in modern day context and once again utilise it as a tool to work for the welfare of all of humanity.
