Ardha Kumbha Mela Formally Inaugurated

A beautiful Ardha Kumbha Mela inaugural ceremony brought together revered saints, eminent Mahants, Mahamandaleshwars and the heads of nearly every major traditional ashram and lineage in Rishikesh and Haridwar at Har Ki Pauri with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on the 12th January.

During the course of the ceremony, Pujya Swamiji led the saints in a pledge to support the state government in making the mela a clean, green and serene one. He shared plans for a unique Yog Mahakumbha event in March that would bring together internationally renowned Yogacharyas, local Yoga institutes and yogis from across the world to Haridwar, Uttarakhand, the birthplace of Yoga, for a special three day Yoga event.

Pujya Swamiji shared plans for many other events in which the message of cleaniness, of oneness and togetherness would be resonated. He shared plans for mass awareness activities in which ending open defecation, cleaning up our sacred rivers, planting more and more trees and ending modern day slavery would be emphasized.

The Ardh Kumbha Mela in Haridwar would last until the 22nd of April.
