Participating in a Yoga Retreat at the “birthplace of Yoga” (Rishikesh, India) can be a truly life-changing experience, and specially at Parmarth Niketan Ashram where you can live and feel the true spirit of Yoga.
This July seven students from India, Israel and Belgium joined this 5 days program, were they learned the basics of Yoga, a journey of well-being and self-realization.
During the retreat the students had the opportunity to attend asana, pranayama, mantra, philosophy and meditation classes, including morning chanting and Satsang. They also had the blessing to participate at the Havan (special puja – sacred fire ceremony) and be part of the world-renowned Ganga Aarti every evening along the Holy Banks of Maa Ganga.

“If we try to summarize this Yoga Retreat Week in Parmarth Niketan Ashram… using one word? It would be HOME-COMING. Using many words? A life-changing experience that will always remain in our hearts. Thank you for everything we have learned, from Asanas and Pranayama to Meditations and Chanting. Thank you for the opportunity to meet friends from all around the world and especially, for the opportunity to meet ourselves. This is most definitely not a goodbye!”
“This was our first stay at any Ashram for attending the July 2019 Yoga Retreat. We knew some basics Yoga before, but at Parmarth we deepen our practice and knowledge. Both teachers, Indu and Valentina, are very good and have a great voice! Also, we felt privileged to be blessed by Mataji in the last session. The Yoga along with Vedic Chanting gave a new experience to the entire group. Aarti performed at Banks of Maa Ganga every day is just awesome. In addition to Yoga, we made wonderful friends here and had a great time together! It’s been such a memorable experience, we definitely hope to come back for advanced learnings.”
