Smt Kanchan Nitin Gadkariji, beautiful wife of Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkariji, came home to Parmarth Niketan recently with her friends, a group of divine shaktis from Nagpur, to meet with HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji. They performed the divine havan (fire ceremony), Ganga Aarti and received a special Rudraksha sapling from Pujya Swamiji as a symbol of their green pilgrimage. They joined Pujya Swamiji in performing the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance’s special water blessing ceremony and were so thrilled to hear about all the wonderful work being done to engage and involve women in the Swachh Bharat Mission, India.
They were especially so glad to learn about the World Toilet College’s recent Toilet Building 101 class, where 25 women were trained to build toilets as part of the Women for WASH Initiative. They were also really glad to hear about the Swarovski and GIWA WaterSchools programme, bringing water education and conservation awareness to students.
During their visit they met with pilgrims that had flocked for Pujya Swamiji’s darshan from many parts of the world, including a large delegation from China. They were glad to see that Pujya Swamiji blessing to international delegates and Yogis was also stressing the vital importance of preserving and protecting our planet, reducing our carbon and water footprint.
As they left, they pledged to not only return back for a longer period of time but to serve in their respective fields to bring this message of Swachh Bharat, improved WASH, protection of our sacred rivers and environmental conservation to their respective communities.
