Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Visits Parmarth

The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Shri Ashwini Choubeyji, was welcomed home by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji for a very special Ganga Aarti, water blessing ceremony and discussions at Parmarth Niketan.

The Honble Minister, who had come to inaugurate a new wing of the AIIMS Rishikesh Hospital, ended up postponing his travel back to Delhi to attend the world renowned Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. Whilst there, Pujya Swamiji discussed with him matters related to preventing the pandemic in times of Kumbh Mela 2019, by inaugurating a new LED Screen setup on the Ghat which will relay these messages.

The Honble Minister lauded Pujya Swamiji’s efforts and contributions towards protecting and preserving our culture as well as inspiring countless many across the world to protect their environment and the sacred Rivers. They remembered the 2013 Floods and led a beautiful pledge for environmental protection.

In addition to Shri Choubeyji, Pujya Swamiji also welcomed revered Jain Saints and all of our brothers and sisters from across India and around the world pledging to work together for Jal Kranti and Jal Jagran – increasing awareness and action towards water conservation.

In addition, the discussed the various programs, services and initiatives of the Ashram, Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Divine Shakti Foundation and the International Yoga Festival all of which was lauded and appreciated by the Honble Minister who left the next morning rejuvenated and recharged.
