Peace in the Chaos Satsang in London

Inspiring Messages of Living in Peace, Yoga and Spirituality Encourage Indian Community Living Abroad to reconnect with their Traditions and to discover the keys of Wisdom in their own Spiritual Cultural Heritage

A beautiful spiritual gathering was organized at the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Wood Lane, London which was blessed by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji, HH Pujya Swami Ramdevji, HH Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and Respected Bhaisahib Mohinder Singhji.

Also joining the gathering was politician and Islamic leader Dr. Sayyed Ataollah Mohajerani, a renowned political leader and scholar from Iran now residing in London, Lord Jitesh Gadhia from the House of Lords, Eastern Eye’s Mr Ramnikbhai Solanki, heading the largest Asian publications house in Europe and many other dignitaries.

Nearly 1000 devotees, seekers and yoga enthusiasts from England, Europe and even as far away as the United States gathered together to listen to the words of wisdom by these respected and revered spiritual leaders. With the dedicated seva of Manda Lakhani, the divine evening was filled with beautiful bhajans and kirtans that were led by young devotees Dhanush Lodhia, Risha V Dholakia, Shreya Radhika, Roshni and many others.

Sadhvi Bhagawatiji emphasized the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita: “Mana eva manushyanam karanam bandha-mokshayoh, The chaos from which we suffer is in our own minds. The answer is not about finding peace somewhere outside, but removing the obstacles to it within our own minds.” She continued by explaining that “Your thoughts are tickets to your destination. If you get on a thought train of jealousy, anger, judgement or grudges then your destination will be misery. No one buys a plane ticket or train ticket to a destination they don’t want to go. However, in our minds we jump onto thought trains to the chaos of despair, pain and misery and then wonder how we got there. We have to remember that jaise beetar vaise bahar (as is the inner world, so is the outer world), not vice versa. We have to pull the reins of our life out of the hands of the people and the situations around us to our self, so that our inner state of peace can then manifest into our outer state of peace and bring peace to all those we meet and ultimately to the world.”

She answered questions from the audience on a variety of topics including how to raise children with values in this digital world and mechanisms of enlightenment and liberation.

Pujya Swamiji enchanted everyone with Hanuman Chalisa, divine Vedic chanting bringing the banks of Mother Ganga and Rishikesh into the hearts of the devotees. He then shared his inspiring message, “Chaos is not outside of us but it actually inside of us. Our own ego in family, community and nations has become the barrier. Everyone says “I want peace,” but the answer actually lies within the statement. If we remove the “i”, meaning ego, remove the “want” meaning desires, what remains is just peace. The problem everywhere is our ego and our desires! This “I” is always capital and always vertical! We have to learn to make the “I” horizontal, instead of vertical, so that it can become a bridge between families, communities, nations and the world. Watch your breath, connect to your inner net — God’s Perfect System, your inner GPS, takes you to the destination. In this way you have all that you need to create your own Himalayas and the banks of Maa Ganga right where you are.”

Pujya Baba Ramdevji joined the event after his yoga camp in London. He shared, “This whole existence is the live expression of the Divine. When you live in this awareness, in this ultimate truth, then life is complete, full and whole. I tell everyone practice Yoga in the morning and perform Karma Yoga throughout the day. This is the key to leading a truly healthy and happy life. I want to make Yoga so glamorous that everyone is attracted to it instead of distracted by everything else. You can all become examples of living yoga because everything that you need is inside of you.”

Pujya Swamiji emphasized the need to come together for our sacred rivers, whether the Thames River or the River Ganga, he encouraged everyone to serve to create a cleaner, greener and more sustainable world for all. In this spirit, all of the dignitaries and special guests were honoured with a beautiful green plant. Pujya Swamiji also invited everyone home to the International Yoga Festival and the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad in 2019.
