Inaugural Ceremony of Kanwad Mela at Parmarth Niketan

Beautiful inauguration of month long Kanwad Mela interventions by the Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Suresh Kumar Khannaji who was visiting Parmarth Niketan and graciously agreed to join us to inaugurate the services that have been inspired by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and are being carried out by His devotees and followers.

They include:

  • Free Medical Camp which would be providing free medical services to all the Kanwadis (the yatris and pilgrims on route to Neelkanth) in the Neelkanth Marg. The first over 300 people were served today!
  • Jal Mandir (Water Temples) with the provision of clean and free drinking water to all yatris.
  • Dustbins throughout the main Neelkanth Marg route
  • Pledge to work with the Urban Local Leaders to ensure regular clean-ups in addition to maintaining the sanitation and hygiene of the region post the Kanwad Mela.
  • Awareness Campaigns & Rallies for a Plastic Pollution free Kanwad Mela – Regular and Daily Puppet Shows performed by our young Rishikumars and Sevaks who will be inspiring through their shows pledge to end plastic and any form of pollution to Mother Ganga and her tributaries.

In addition, by planting the first Rudraksha tree he also ceremoniously blessed the plantation of 75,000 trees in the Rajaji National Park that had been pledged by Pujya Swamiji and planned along with the Uttarakhand Forest Department. All sevaks enthusiastically joined together after the beautiful inaugural event and completed the day’s services to take a Selfie at the Selfie Point placed near Parmarth’s Free Medical Services Camp
