Himalaya Diwas to be Celebrated at Parmarth Niketan

Dr Anil Joshi ji, an Indian green activist, social worker, botanist and the founder of Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO), came home to Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) recently to meet with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji. They discussed a vast array of important topics ranging from the preservation of the National River Ganga, solutions to clean the drains going into the River at its source, protecting the Himalayas and bringing all faith leaders and policy makers together for these vital efforts.

During this visit, Dr Anil Joshiji proposed the celebration of Himalaya Divas on the 9th September at Parmarth Niketan and called to Pujya Swamiji to bring all faith leaders and stakeholders together for this cause. Pujya Swamiji accepted the proposal and in the coming days the rest of the details would be worked out by both organisations on the agenda and objective of the celebrations this year and drafting a charter for protecting one of the worlds largest mountain range. A follow up press conference was set for the 8th August at HESCO in Dehradun.

Pujya Swamiji gifted Dr Joshiji a beautiful Rudraksha Sapling for his green leadership and tireless and tenacious conviction to the preservation and protection of the Himalayas.
