Guru Purnima at Parmarth

Guru Poojan, Darshan & Blessings with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji & Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati

Wishing everyone a very blessed and beautiful #GuruPurnima from Parmarth Niketan!

We began this sacred day honouring the Guru Parampara with a special tribute to Pujya MM Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj and with the divine Darshan of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji. We then had a beautiful Guru Poojan, a discourse on the Light of the Guru by Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and bhakti-filled Guru bhajans and mantras by Pujya Sadhvi Abha Saraswatiji and Shri Dilip Chetrryji.

“When the Masters tell us ‘I am there, I am with you,’ it’s not just a platitude, it really is True. The Guru is with us all the time. We are together, even if we aren’t physically. All of you are here with us in the lap of the Himalayas! On this auspicious day of Guru Purnima, which falls during the beginning of the rainy season and on the full moon. When the earth is parched, it needs water. The rain comes onto the parched earth and everything grows. In this way, the Guru comes and water us when we have dried up, when we are thirsty. The Guru brings Life and Light. The Guru re-reminds us of our True Eternal nature when we have forgotten and when we are living in delusion. The Guru shows us the path to God. The Guru is a fast-track ticket and a great, great Blessing!” shared Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawatiji in her devotion filled discourse.

Pujya Swamiji Maharaj emphasized the importance of the Guru on our spiritual path. He shared so beautifully, “The Mother gives us birth but the Guru gives us divine birth, when you live with this awareness that Guru is Purna Maa – the complete & Divine Mother- then everyday & every moment is Guru Purnima. The Guru is one who truly embodies the mighty Himalayas, the purity of Maa Ganga & the depth of the ocean. It is w/ the grace of our Sadguru that our life finds purpose & meaning – to this Guru let us pay obeisance on #GuruPurnima2020.”

He also encouraged families across the world to make their homes their temples, make their homes their Gurukul by bringing in values and sanskaras into their daily lives. He also inspired a #GreenGuruPurnima pledge that each person should plant at least eleven trees in this monsoon season and loving offered the Guru Parampara and Pujya Adi Shankaracharyaji a sacred tulsi sapling as a symbol of our pledge.

Parmarth Niketan encouraged everyone to honour, reflect and introspect on this sacred occasion of Asadha Purnima by staying home, following all the guidelines and remembering to make it a Green Guru Purnima.
