Dream Girl Hema Maliniji Dreams for Clean & Green Ganga & Yamuna

Dream Girl Hema Maliniji, Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mathura constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), visited her Himalayan home, Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) and met with Pujya Swamiji, President of Parmarth Niketan, Co-Founder of Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) and Founder of Ganga Action Parivar (GAP). They discussed several concerns related to the dire air pollution condition in Delhi, the rampant pollution of the National River Ganga and her tributaries and the nearly non-existent River Yamuna.

Pujya Swamiji shared His recent return from Amarkantak, the origin of the River Narmada, and the beautiful Narmada Seva Yatra that began there to connect to 1,900 km stretch of the Narmada, covering 900 villages in 16 districts. They also discussed several green technologies that can be utilised to provide sustainable solutions to air and water pollution, such as the Agriboard Technology, which utilises agricultural waste to recycle and reuse it in resilient and strong construction sheets used for buildings and homes. Pujya Swamiji also spoke about sewage treatment technologies, bio-digester toilet technology and eco-crematorium technologies that could also greatly prevent and abate river pollution.

They took part in a special water blessing ceremony in which the sacred waters of the River Ganga were offered over a globe with a collective prayer to serve in ensuring access to safe and sufficient water, sanitation and hygiene for all.

Hemaji then joined Pujya Swamiji for a special, divine Ganga Aarti at the Parmarth Ganga Ghat. During the ceremony, Hema Maliniji said, “With the ever increasing pollution in our world, and the endangered and polluted sacred rivers of our nation, I dream of a cleaner, greener and more sustainable world for all. A world in which access to clean water and clean air is not only a birth right but a human right enjoyed by everyone. I believe, with Pujya Swamiji’s support, we can truly inspire people to work together in restoring and protecting our holy rivers. As I discussed with Pujya Swamiji, we will be planning a beautiful Yamuna Aarti in Mathura in which we will invite all revered saints, kathakars and stakeholders to join hands in rejuvenation of the River Yamuna.”

Pujya Swamiji said, “Time has come for Stars, Saints, Sarkar and all Stakeholders to come together as one voice with one vision of clean, green and serene world. Time has come that we pledge to serve towards ensuring pollution free and free flowing rivers and clean air for all to breathe. We must realise that without nature’s rights we cannot maintain any form of human rights. Here on the banks of Mother Ganga, let us recognise our inherent connection with Mother Nature and let us raise our hands and pledge to work in our communities and villages towards a Clean India, free from open defecation and any form of pollution.”
