3rd Phase of LifeSkills Training Held at Parmarth – “Dream of Good and Positive Relationships”

After a hugely-successful first and second event inspired and blessed by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, the third phase of life skills training – organized under the auspices of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance and the UNFPA – was held recently at Parmarth Niketan. The three-day training, based on the “Dream of Good and Positive Relationships” and based on the Prayasapna course method, was facilitated by Mrs Ishani Sen, and focused on building good and positive relationships at the individual and community levels, through various activities, to ensure a good and positive community and nation.

In His inaugural address to the participants, Pujya Swamiji shared: “Successful relationships are an essential component to keep any family, society or organization strong. If there is conflict in relationships, then a healthy society cannot be built. Conflict arises especially when we work with a group or organization where the interests of the people become more important than the interests of the community.

“It is necessary to explain to our Youth that, in the event of conflict, both parties have to come to a positive, balanced and better decision reflecting the interests of all. It is also very important to respect the values of all parties. Society is made up of many groups of individuals who may have different ideologies, beliefs, and values. To ensure that the beliefs and values of all are honoured and reflected, it is necessary to train our Youth to work together to build a positive society.”

These ongoing sessions are part of a beautiful effort to transform communities, the Nation and the world through the creation of peer educators enabled and empowered to go into neighbourhoods and communities to share life-skill training and methods.
