Youth Leadership Summit at Parmarth Niketan

The Global Education & Leadership Foundation’s (tGELF) LIFE 2018

Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh hosted the annual Leadership summit, organized by the Global Education and Leadership Foundation’s (tGELF). The Leadership Initiative for Excellence (LIFE) Summit took place from the 10th-12th August .

The event is typically held every year in Delhi but this year, Mr Shiv Khemkaji, Founder of tGELF, accepted Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji’s invitation to come home to Rishikesh, on the sacred banks of Mother #Ganga, in the lap of the majestic Himalayas. The three-day retreat for more than 200 youth leaders and their mentors from across 20 countries is designed to engage in core values of LEAD – Leadership, Ethics, Altruism and Decisive action. This year’s theme was LEADing from Within.

Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati-Muniji, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji Shri Shiv Khemka,Chairman of tGELF, and Ms Gowri Ishwaran inaugurated the conference. At LIFE Retreat this year, there were no speakers or panels. All attendees participated in curated, moderated round table discussions on matters of the world, mind and spirit.

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji welcomed our tGELF family from over 20 countries and opened the #LIFE2018 Summit by emphasising the magic and transformation that one can access by being here on this sacred land on the holy banks of Maa #Ganga and in the lap of the #Himalayas! On the second day of the conference, the attendees had the incredible experience of witnessing everyone come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles coming to Rishikesh in 1968 to the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The afternoon was a unique experience of music, meditation led by Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and of course, the Beatles! During the Concluding ceremony on International Youth Day, tGELF and Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) launched a partnership campaign to raise awareness on the issues of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) called #WASHUP. The partnership was launched by Honourable Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan, Co-Founder of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA), Sadhvi Bhagawati, Secretary-General, GIWA, Founder and Chairman of tGELF, Shiv Khemka, Maulana Syed Kokab Mujtaba Abidi, Sufi Syed Salman Chisthy, Gaddi Nashin-Dargah Ajmer Sharif, along with over 200 young leaders from more than 20 countries. Marking the auspicious occasion of #HariyaliTeej festival, upon completion of the three day LIFE 2018 Summit , The approximately 200 participants participated in a massive tree plantation drive at Veerpur village near Rishikesh.
