Winter 2017:  Sunday December 16th – Saturday December 22nd, 2018

This 1-week Beginner Intensive Yoga program for individuals with some yoga experience, includes prayers, pranayama, Surya Namaskar, traditional hatha yoga basic asana, question /  answer session, Yoga Philosophy, Vedic Chanting, Meditation, Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga.  Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram.

Spring 2018: Thursday March 8th – Sunday March 11th, 2018

Chakradance™, Rhythm of the Soul is a spirited, playful, intuitive, dance to release stress, activate inner healing, unravel and re-balance energies to live from your best self at home, work and leisure. Come explore your energy centers as we journey from your root chakra at the base of your spine to the crown chakra at the top of your head to access your inner wisdom and rich intuition. Using specific music from around the world, guided visualization, mandala art, meditations and your unique, creative and expressive movements, you access your inner glow and radiance for creativity, clarity, innovation, peace and harmony.

Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram; and Kirtan at 8:30pm with the Rishikumars of Parmarth Gurukul.

The Chakradance™ experience is embedded in the philosophy of Jungian Psychology. The primary aim of Jungian Psychology is to create a relationship between our unconscious and consciousness for healing and harmony to live our full potential.

Spring 2018: Sunday February 18th – Friday February 23rd, 2018

Not able to move to a meditation cave in the Himalayas to find peace? No problem! Learn to integrate yoga in the midst of everyday life. Through the ancient science of yoga, we will explore tools to balance your passions with work, family and other responsibilities. Included is instruction on moving your body with good alignment through traditional hatha yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy and question & answer sessions to ensure integration and relevance of the teachings. At the end of the program you will have an individualized written action plan to help live more fully, with greater ease and harmony with self and others.

Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram.

This course is for those new to yoga but all levels of practitioners are welcome.

Spring 2018: Sunday March 25th – Thursday April 5th, 2018

Want to dance your transformational journey to Embrace Your Spirit? Want to journey from fear, anger, dis-ease and loss of identity to faith, bliss, joy, peace and ease as you discover the true essence of who you are? If you want to be your best self in all your relationships at home, work and leisure, Embrace Your Spirit is for you. This 2 week program provides you with simple techniques of Tara’s signature system to journey from intention to transformation. We will dance with our eyes closed or blind folded to music that resonates with our chakra / energy centers to unblock and balance our energies as we discover and embrace our true self. Your dance can playful, spirited, free flowing and healing with your unique and expressive movements.  Meditation, mandala art, chakra specific yogasana, journal and eternal healing sound will activate your inner healing, access your inner glow and radiance; and, increase your awareness of the connections between your mind, body, soul and the Universal Soul.

By the end of the program you will have a plan of action for your continued transformational journey to discovering and embracing the essence of who you.

Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram.

Please have a pen and journal for reflections and coloured pencils or crayons for mandala art creations; and blindfolds for the dance. Participants will have access to private coaching sessions with tara and/or Sanjay [by appointment] on Saturday and Sunday.

This 10 day / 2 week Foundation Yoga program for individuals with no yoga experience includes prayers, pranayama, Surya Namaskar, traditional hatha yoga basic asana, Vedic Chanting, Karma Yoga and question / answer session.  Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram.

Optional classes available in this program:

  • 1 additional chanting class per day
  • Conversational Hindi 1 class per day

This 11-day/2-week Intensive Yoga program includes prayers, pranayama, Surya / Chandra Namaskar, traditional hatha yoga basic asana, in-depth practice of yoga asana, Yoga in the Bhagvad Gita and Paatanjali Yoga Sutras, Vedic Chanting, question / answer session, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Havan [Sacred Fire ceremony] and cultural aspects of Indian Festivals [whichever occurs during the course].   Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram.

Optional classes available in this program:

  • 1 additional chanting class per day

Pre-requisite:  1 year of regular yoga practice; and, a desire to live the principles of yoga.

Certificate of Attendance: Commitment to the practice, punctuality and attendance; and, honouring the yogic principles must be demonstrated to qualify for the certificate.

Summer 2018: Wednesday June 20th, 2018 – Thursday June 21st, 2018

This International Yoga Day begins with Universal prayers / Vedic Chanting at 5 am in the Satsang Hall followed by pranayama, surya namaskar and meditation in the yoga hall. After breakfast [food for the body] discover yoga as a life style beyond the mat [food for the mind]. In the afternoon, cool down with a Ganga Snaan /dip to mantra chanting from our Rishikumars of the Parmarth Gurukul. Take time to reflect before participating in a special Ganga puja, Shiva pooja, Yagna and the world famous Ganga Aarti [food for the soul] at sunset on the holy banks of Ma Ganga. After dinner take time to reflect on the day as you move one step closer in yoga for that mind, body soul connection.

This program is a great way to deepen your practice and gain a better understanding of the subtleties of yoga while focusing on the main chakras of the body.  Each day of this Kriya Yoga program begins with the 20 main Kriya Yoga practices for pratyahara, dharana, dhyana [control of the senses, concentration and meditation]; and, includes prayers, pranayama, traditional hatha yoga asana, question / answer satsang, Vedic Chanting.   As we explore the chakras, we are able to unblock and balance our inner energies for great well being and mind-body-spirit connection.  Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram; and kirtan with the Rishikumars of Parmarth Gurukul.

Spring 2018: Sunday March 11th – Saturday March 31st, 2018

“Yujyate anena iti yogah”  – that which helps our union with the Divine is Yoga. Nada Yoga means Yoga of Sacred Sound. Mantras, Vedic Chants, Kirtan/Bhajan, Suktas, shlokas, stotras and singing the glory of the Divine in any form ultimately take us to this divine union, called Nada Yoga.

In this Nada Yoga with Vedic Chanting Course you will have the opportunity to learn the Vedic chants for the morning universal prayers; and, the Hanuman Chalisa, Shiva Mahimna Stotra, mantras and bhajans / kirtan for the enchanting experience of the Divine Ganga Aarti on the holy banks of Ma Ganga at sunset. Additionally you will learn the Durga Sukta in worship of the Divine Mother and the Sarva Devta Gayatri to honour all the manifestations of the Divine Creator.

This 3 week program will also include hatha yoga, meditation, mantra yoga, bhakti yoga, karma yoga; and, daily bhajan/satsang after dinner as a wonderful way to end the day.

This 5-day Spiritual Retreat includes prayers, pranayama, Mauna Dhyana Sadhana, Surya Namaskar and basic stretching yoga asana, question / answer session, Mantra Chanting,  silent & guided Meditations, Gita recitation,  Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga.   Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram; and kirtan at 8:30pm with the Rishikumars of the Parmarth Gurukul.

2019 New Year Spiritual Retreat: Saturday December 29th, 2018 – Tuesday January 1st, 2019 [3 days]

This 2-day Weekend Spiritual Retreat is designed for those individuals who need a respite from the busy-ness of life – a time for relaxation, rejuvenation and to re-energize to better manage the demands of life.  The weekend  includes prayers, pranayama, Mauna Dhyana Sadhana, Surya Namaskar and basic stretching yoga asana, question /  answer session, Mantra Chanting,  silent & guided Meditations, Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga, walks and much more.

The specific pranayama and kriyas will be determined by the needs of the group. Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram and/or Kirtan at 8:30pm.

Individuals are expected to use the time after dinner for reflection and introspection to determine how they will integrate their learnings into their daily lives.

Autumn 2018: Sunday October 21st, 2018 – Friday November 16th, 2018

Becoming a yoga teacher takes commitment, dedication and willingness to live the yogic principles. The yoga teacher is the disciple as well as the example.

This 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course is eligible to register with Yoga Alliance USA and includes prayers, pranayama, Surya / Chandra Namaskar, traditional hatha yoga basic asana, in-depth practice of yoga asana, Yoga in the Bhagvad Gita and Paatanjali Yoga Sutras, Teaching Methodology / Teaching Practice and opportunities for self practice to deepen your understanding, discipline and teaching abilities, Vedic Chanting, question / answer sessions, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Havan [Sacred Fire ceremony] and cultural aspects of Indian Festivals [whichever occurs during the course]. Each day concludes with Ganga Havan & Aarti at sunset; followed by Satsang when Pujya Sadhviji is in the Ashram.

Pre-requisite:  Currently a yoga teacher; or, completion of Intensive Yoga; or, 2 years of regular yoga asana practice; and, a desire to live the principles of yoga.

Certificate of Attendance: Commitment to the practice, punctuality and attendance, and honouring the yogic principles must be demonstrated to qualify for the certificate. With successful completion of this program you can teach yoga with Yoga Alliance USA credentials.


Important Course Information

  • It is necessary to understand, read and write English to be able to participate in the yoga courses which are offered in English.
  • Certificates for Intensive and YTTC will be issued only on completion of the entire course.
  • Attendance and punctuality are important factors for self discipline and to receive the certificate for certificate courses.
  • Dress code to be maintained (white comfortable outfit covering full body: no cut sleeves and skimpy dresses, please.) during yoga classes, at meal times, in the Ashram grounds, and at Parmarth ghat.
  • Make sure to bring your receipt of full payments to the first class that begins early in the morning.
  • No classes on Sundays and major Indian/Hindu Holidays.
  • The first day is for check in and orientation. Please arrive at the Ashram by 4:00 pm and check with the reception desk for the location and time of the orientation.
  • Yoga students are welcome to stay an additional 15 days to integrate and deepen their discipline and practice. This is only possible when rooms are available.
