October 7-15  -- Navratri

During the sacred days of Navratri, there was daily Ramayan Paath as well as special puja, chanting and daily special yagnas on the banks of Ganga.

October 13-16: Rishikesh
 A special group from USA, Mexico and Europe came led by Gurudass Khalsa of Spain and Sampuran Khalsa of USA. Students of Kundalini Yoga, they came to Rishikesh to imbibe the divine nectar of the land from where the saints, rishis and sages passed down the secrets of Yoga.
 
 
 

 
 
 

 

October 23-27: Rishikesh
H.H. Prananandaji (Louix Dor Dempriey) came to Parmarth Niketan with a group of 56 devotees from USA, Australia, Europe and Asia. The group was on a 2 week trip throughout India, having traveled South, North, East and West before coming to Parmarth Niketan. The group participated in Divine Ganga Aarti and had a special lunch on the Ganga Ghat with all of the young rishikumars and children from Sanskar Vidya Mandir. Everyone wrote that Parmarth Niketan was their favorite part of the entire India tour. �After traveling the length and breadth of the country, I finally came home,� one woman wrote. �Thank you so much for welcoming us into your beautiful piece of Paradise,� others wrote.

Each evening, after aarti the group had special Satsang and question-answer sessions with Pujya Swamiji and Pujya Prananandaji. The combination of Aarti followed by satsang with the saints was the highlight of everyone�s time.

Rishikesh: Sheena Singhal Day
In honor of the birthday of dear Sheena Singhal, in whose name our largest school is sponsored, we had a special meal for the girls. Dear Sheena was taken into the lap of God at a young, tender age. However, in her memory, her parents -- Dr. Yatinder Singhal and Smt. Sarita Singhal of Detroit, USA -- have sponsored a school in Rishikesh where nearly 400 children receive daily education and 1500 girls receive vocational training.

November 4-18: Rishikesh: Swami Narayan Sadhana Shibir
 

   
 

H.H. Pujya Madhav Priyadas Swamiji Maharaj of the Swaminarayan tradition came to Parmarth Niketan with 215 of his saints and 1600 devotees for a special 2 week Sadhana Camp.  All of the residents, guests, pilgrims and devotees at Parmarth were blessed by the darshan of the saints and the devotional atmosphere.

 
   
       

H.H. Pujya Madhav Priyadas Swamiji Maharaj runs 7 gurukuls throughout India and has graciously agreed to find 100 young, divine orphans or financially impoverished boys for Parmarth Niketan�s gurukul. So, within a few short months, we will have another 100 young rishikumars.

November 9-10: Rishikesh
To celebrate her special 50th birthday, Smt. Usha Shahra, divine wife of Shri Santosh Shahra came to Parmarth Niketan to herald in the 51st year with puja, yagna and Aarti. Pujya Swamiji praised the entire family�s devotion and piety for choosing to celebrate such a special occasion in a pious and pure ashram rather than in a large hotel or resort, dancing and drinking champagne!

November 11 - 19: Rishikesh

Several special guests came from USA to spend quiet, serene days in the sacred environment.

   
 

Respected Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, internationally renowned Kundalini Yoga teacher came for
several days.
Gurmukh is a regular favorite asset to Parmarth�s International Yoga Festivals and regularly brings large groups of yoga students from USA.
This time she was here for personal sadhana.

 
 

Also, Dawn Baille and dear Paris Baille came from Los Angeles. Dawn is a student of Gurmukh�s who came last year on one of the yoga retreats and immediately became a close member of Parmarth�s family.

   
 

The founder and owner of BLT & Associates in Hollywood, Dawn has done all of the beautiful art work for much of Parmarth�s and IHRF�s recent publications as well as the glorious photo-exhibition of Pujya Swamiji�s life for His 50th Jayanti Celebration. This time, Dawn brought her divine daughter Paris to experience India and to meet her 100 brothers in the Gurukul!

On a special day,  Respected Gurmukh began a Kundalini yoga class for the children in the Gurukul. For over an hour they jumped like frogs, bounced like monkeys and chanted sacred mantras in a divine meditation.

November 11: Rishikesh

From the 8th to the 12 November, the Himalayan Institute organized a beautiful conference on Science and Meditation at Jolly Grant Hospital, under the inspiration and guidance of H.H. M.M. Swami Veda Bharatiji. On November 11, 120 doctors and scientists from abroad came to Parmarth Niketan to partake in the divine Aarti ceremony and to have Prasad afterwards.

November 13: Jolly Grant Himalayan Institute - Dehradun

   
 

At the conclusion of the Conference and to mark the Mahasamadhi anniversary of the great saint H.H. Swami Rama, the Himalayan Institute organized a special Mahasamadhi Celebration.

Pujya Swamiji was the Chief Guest at the function.

 
   

 He gave a beautiful lecture on the message of H.H. Swami Rama�s life and released 2 new books based on the teachings of H.H. Swami Rama. Prior to the function, the dedicated team at Jolly Grant Hospital, including Shri Vijay Dhasmana, Dr. Prakash Keshaviah, Dr. Anil Singhal and Dr. Hanumanth Rao showed Pujya Swamiji around the Swami Rama Centre � a special centre dedicated to his life and his teachings.

Shri Prabhat Kumarji, former Cabinet Minister of the Government of India and former Governor of Jharkhand was the Guest of Honor at the Celebration and later joined us at Parmarth Niketan for Aarti.
