Maha Karuna Day Celebrations in Delhi

Pujya Swamiji graced and blessed the International Celebration of Maha Karuna Day 2017. He joined Hon Governor of Bihar Shri Ram Nath Kovindji, Union Minister Maneka Gandhiji, Union Minister Ramdas Athawaleji as well as a galaxy of faith leaders, some of who included Anandmurti Gurumaaji, Acharya Lokesh Muniji, Imam Umer Ilyasiji, Lama Lobsangji, many country ambassadors and others in accepting the Mahakaruna Award for being true ambassadors and torch-bearers of peace.

The event was held at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in Delhi, organised by the great vision and dedication of the Founder-President of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre Ven Bhikku Sanghasenaji.

Pujya Swamiji inspired and touched everyone with His words and shared that we need to break illusive borders and boundaries, emphasising that togetherness and oneness is the key. He said, “The world does not need more walls, more borders and boundaries. It needs more bridges to promote interfaith harmony and peace. We can commit on the auspicious occasion of Maha Karuna Day to being these bridges.”

He also appreciated Ven Bhikkhu Sanghasenaji’s great dedication by honouring him with a sacred Rudraksha sapling, for being a peace ambassador, who has brought such greenery and life to Ladakh as well as for being a living example of Compassion In Action.
