Health Minister of India Pledges for Health of the Environment

Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Ashwini Choubey​ji came home to Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) recently to met with Pujya Swamiji.

Pujya Swamiji apprised him of the work that is taking place under the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance​, Ganga Action Parivar​ & Divine Shakti Foundation​ to improve the health of our Mother Earth as well as the health of women and children. They discussed GIWA’s many training programmes through the World Toilet College as well as community outreach activities, especially GIWA’s recent and powerful Swachh Bihar yatra. They also discussed the Ganga Cleaning activities and pilot plans underway with the joint efforts of Ganga Action Parivar and GIWA. There was also conversation about the free medical services and outreach activities with the Divine Shakti Foundation. They also touched upon the upcoming Kumbh Mela and how to make it a Swachh and Swasth one. The Hon’ble Minister shared that he had organised large-scale Swasth Kumbh Mela’s in Bihar which is his home constituency.

He joined Pujya Swamiji in a water blessing ceremony and received a sacred Rudraksha sapling as a symbol of his clean and green leadership. He also participated in the divine Ganga Aarti ceremony with his family and pledged in agreement that the health of Mother Nature was paramount to the health of all of humanity.
