Famous Kirtan Singer Jai Uttal Live in Concert at Parmarth

Famous kirtan singer Jai Uttal was live in a free concert yesterday at Parmarth Niketan. His beautiful devotional music and kirtan attracted a large crowd of international devotees and tourists from all across Rishikesh. Pujya Swamiji and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, who have met Jai several times in America, had extended an invitation for him to perform on the banks of Maa Ganga. Jai Uttal expressed how deeply grateful he was for this divine opportunity to play on the banks of Mother Ganga.

Pujya Swamiji honoured Jai, his family and his beautiful band with a sacred Rudraksha sapling. Pujya Swamiji reminded him and appreciated his green pledge and commitment that with each music CD sold at least one tree would be planted. Pujya Swamiji expressed, “This is truly the need of the hour, for our music and our talent to be dedicated to the protection and conservation of the planet. This is to me the true pooja and the true worship.”

Pujya Swamiji also lovingly welcomed Jai and his family to make Rishikesh their permanent base and travel all around the world from the banks of Mother Ganga.  Sadhvi Bhagawatiji led everyone in a pledge to join these efforts and serve to make our planet cleaner and greener for everyone. She thanked Jai Uttal, his family and his band for sharing Bhakti Yoga and his beautiful music with everyone. They performed a special water blessing ceremony together and took part in the evening Ganga Aarti, where Jai Uttal joined Pujya Swamiji in the kirtan.
